STUDIO POLICIES
Studio Noire Noir is a natural light photo studio in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. It is available for use upon hourly, half day, full day and monthly rentals.
1 hour being the minimum booking time period.
Booking Requirements
-Renter must have payment made in full in order to lock down the desired booking time and date.
-Booking is done on a first come first serve basis and Studio Noire Noir is subject to book the desired date to another renter without payment completed.
Studio Noire Noir has various lighting situations depending on the time of day and season. No refunds will be issued for customers’ dissatisfaction with lighting due to weather or unfamiliarity with our lighting schedule.
-Max capacity for each space:
The Loft: 12 people
The Flat: 25 people
Amenities and spaces available for Renter use:
-Main studio area + Entry room
-Power outlets
-Bathrooms
-Various rental equipment upon booking
*With the exception of building bathrooms/waiting area provided on the third floor, renters must stay inside their designated studio rental spaces. The renter or anyone in their party is not permitted to enter the private offices of Clutch Clark, Steph Kirk, or any other “Suites” within the building.
Payment
-Payment must be made upon booking to solidify the time slot.
Rescheduling and Cancellations
-If hourly rentals are canceled within 1 week of the booked date, Studio Noire Noir will issue a full refund.
- If canceled within 48 hours, Studio Noire Noir will issue a partial refund. 40% will be withheld as a cancellation fee.
-Day of cancellations will result in the full amount of the hourly rental being charged as a cancellation fee.
-Any bookings that need to be rescheduled, must be rescheduled within 1 week. Otherwise, there will be a cancellation fee. Rescheduling is on a first come first serve basis and Studio Noire Noir cannot guarantee any certain date/time.
*Full-day rentals must be cancelled within 2 weeks to be issued a full refund and 1 week for a partial (50%) refund. Full-day reschedules must be brought to attention 1 week prior to the scheduled date to avoid a cancellation fee.
-If you accidentally booked the wrong space, we cannot guarantee your desired studio will be available upon arrival. We cannot offer refunds day of for failure to confirm which studio you rented upon booking. Reschedules/cancellations due to space mixups will be subject to the fees and timelines listed above.
Parking
-Studio Noire Noir is not responsible for parking. There is public, metered street parking along the block, a metered parking lot across the street as well as metered parking garages nearby available.
-Noire Noir is not responsible for any theft or damage to any vehicles during your rental.
Time
-RENTER IS AWARE THAT THEY OR ANYONE IN THEIR PARTY CANNOT COME EARLY INSIDE THE STUDIO TO SET UP PERSONAL ITEMS (INCLUDING PROPS, HAIR AND MAKEUP FOR MODELS, STYLING WARDROBE OR SETTING UP PAPER ROLL RENTALS). SET UP AND TAKE DOWN MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN THE BOOKED TIME SLOT.
-If the renter needs more time, please check with a Noire Noir representative 15 minutes before the end of your booked time slot. If the studio is available for an extended rental, extra time will be billed accordingly.
-Renter must show up to their shoot on time, as there could be possible bookings before or after your booked time period. If the Renter or anyone in their party is late (without the fault of Noire Noir), Studio Noire Noir can not guarantee extra rental time and there will be no refund issued.
-Renter understands that if they or their party shows up or stays more than 5 minutes before or after their scheduled rental, this could conflict with other bookings. It will also be considered “overtime” and will be billed accordingly, with a 1-hour minimum.
Noire Noir Representatives
-There will typically be a Studio Noire Noir representative available onsite throughout your rental to open and close the space, as well as set up any paper roll rentals upon your arrival and answer any questions or concerns during your shoot.
-If you need large pieces of furniture moved within the studio please allow a Noire Noir representative to do so for you.
Rental Expectations
-Music must be kept at a reasonable volume, as Studio Noire Noir is located in a shared building
-There is no drinking, smoking, vaping or drug use permitted within Studio Noire Noir. Violators will be asked to leave. No refunds will be issued.
-With the exception of the items stated below, Renter is welcome to bring their own equipment or props into the space.
-STUDIO NOIRE NOIRE PROHIBITS THE USE OF ANY PROPERTY DAMAGING MATERIALS SUCH AS NAILS OR TACKS. IF YOU NEED TO HANG ANYTHING WITHIN THE SPACE YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE WALL FRIENDLY TAPES, “FUN TAK” OR COMMAND STRIPS.
-ABSOLUTELY NO GLITTER OR CONFETTI OF ANY SIZE PERMITTED INSIDE THE SPACE. NO EXCEPTIONS. EVER. THIS INCLUDES LOOSE GLITTER AND ANY LARGE PROPS THAT HAVE GLITTER ON THEM.
-IF GLITTER OR CONFETTI IS USED, A $100 CLEANING FEE WILL BE CHARGED AS IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CLEAN.
*IF USING GLITTER TO STYLE A MODEL, PLEASE APPLY OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING.
-Studio Noire Noir is a safe space to create in. There is an absolute zero-tolerance policy for any inappropriate behavior towards a Noire Noir representative. This includes any verbal or physical assault of any kind. Violators will be asked to leave and will not be issued a refund.
Cleaning
-With the exception of plants or other fragile objects previously moved by a Noire Noir representative for the Renter, please tidy up and arrange the space/furniture back to exactly how you found it. (***Remember, cleaning must be done within your scheduled booking time) If the renter does not leave the space as it was upon arrival, there will be a $30 cleaning fee invoiced.
-If the Renter or their party leaves anything inside the space. The owner will have 48 hours to collect the item(s). Otherwise, it will be considered abandoned and donated to charity.
Cyc Wall
-Due to Noire Noir being a high traffic studio space with back to back rentals, we cannot guarantee a freshly painted cyc wall in The Flat unless client has communicated their desire for this upon booking. The cyc wall will be painted on a weekly basis, but with the nature of a high traffic studio with back to back rentals, the state of the cyc wall will be dependent on the renters previous to your shoot as we can not paint directly after each rental, every day. In order to achieve a true infinity look that a cyc wall is meant to have, it uses a special matte/flat paint in order to decrease any reflections. This type of paint is very prone to scuffs/dirt. If you would like us to paint the cyc wall outside of our weekly painting schedule, it is an additional $75 fee and your rental must be the first slot of the day (9am). This guarantees you to be the first to use the cyc wall, and allows us time to paint the night before and have it dry in time for your rental.
-When using the cyc wall, if you are not the one being photographed, please remove your shoots or use provided shoe covers if we have them in stock. For models being photographed, please use the sticky mat provided to the side of the cyc wall to clean your shoes before stepping on the the cyc. Step and march on mat until shoe marks/dirt are not longer being left behind as you step. This sticky mat has peelable layers, so if it is dirty, simply tear at the numbered corner for a fresh sheet. An alternate option is to use masking tape on the soles of your shoes to create a barrier between them and the cyc wall. If you are setting props, gear or furniture on the cyc wall, be sure to pick up and place these items, NOT drag them when positioning them
-Do not step on the curve of the wall. If damaged, you may face a fee up to $1000 depending on the severity.
-Owning/using a cyc wall, comes with great responsibility. We want to ensure a clean, professional and high quality space for artists to create in. So thank you for doing your part in helping achieving that <3
Theft and Damages
-Studio Noire Noir is not responsible for any theft, injury, or other incidents of the Renter or their party during the rental.
-If the renter or anyone in their party damages anything within the space (structural, furniture, plant, or any rental equipment), the Renter will have to pay for the damages.
Security Camera:
-After experiencing multiple break ins, we have installed an alarm system with a visible camera in the foyer/common entrance area for security purposes only. We understand privacy is important, especially in a studio setting. To ensure your privacy during your rental, we have installed window shades inside of the shooting area. There is also access to restrooms down the hall for changing. Our goal is always to create a safe, respectful, and comfortable experience for everyone using the space.
Renter Party
-Renter accepts responsibility in educating their party in the rules and expectations stated in this agreement.
